Artist: Paula Kerr
Media/Specialty: Painter porcelain & jewelry
Artist's Statement: Paula Kerr is a porcelain and jewelry artist with a serious love of nature. After inheriting the contents of a home pottery studio, she began to explore carving and painting flowers and scenes in the clay, making bowls, vases, ornaments, jewelry and wind chimes.
In 1996, she began the study of the mineral overglaze process commonly called china painting. Lustres, raised paste, dichroic glass and, finally, silver art clay are all materials Paula has explored and incorporated into her porcelain and jewelry art.
Paula has exhibited at state, regional and international porcelain art shows in Washington, Oregon, Montana and Nebraska and will attend and display at the World Organization of China Painters biannual show this July.
