Meet fine artist Julie Kluh, born and raised by the bay here in Olympia and a legacy of the local Kluh Jewelers family. Julie left Olympia after graduating from Capital HS in 2002 and returned to the Puget Sound in 2018 to persue her work as an artist.

 

After finishing her degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from the University of Washington, she moved to California where she lived on her sailboat and dreamed of sailing the world.  She left her graphic design job (and everything else) to sail the coast of North America to Panama. After 5 years of traveling the previously unthinkable was attained and she sailed and lived for 5 more years in the South Pacific.

 

After a decade at sea as a digital entrepenuer, she followed her heart and returned to the Pacific Northwest to become a full time painter.

 

Having spent so much time in the ocean surrounded by its profound beauty, it is her primary inspiration. The ocean has an instant and lasting powerful charge to the soul. She feels the ocean gives life and is a reflection of our inner world. It is wild and chaotic yet organized, it is calming and peaceful yet terrifying. The ocean connects us all and is a mirror to our own energetic field of being. The fluidity, reflections, clarity and essence in moving water speak to her in a life-affirming way.

 

Her mission is to share her art and let the creative force flow through her to inspire more to flow throughout all of humanity. Julie lives in Olympia and loves to paint custom pieces. Contact her with questions and inquiries.
