The Art of Robert Hunter

Creating abstract paintings and collage has an abundance of spiritual rewards for me. Working in this genre for over forty years, I have discovered patience, intuition, happiness, and resolution call all be attained through the process of mixing colors, thinking through design ideas, and developing the elements of art. Two events in my past have had a profound impact on the vision I have for my style of painting and collage. The first was living in the Skagit Valley of Washington and seeing first-hand the paintings of Northwest Mystic masters Guy Anderson, Mark Tobey, Paul Horiuchi, and Clayton James. Their work was remarkable and continues to inspire me today. The second life-altering experience was meeting Rob Sterling, a fantastic Abstract Expressionists artist and WSU professor who became my mentor. Rob’s instruction included painting workshops held at his beautiful home on Lopez Island, where abstraction opened a new dynamic for me. Today I live with my wife Linda, on East Bay Drive in Olympia. My studio is located in the Olympia Arts Park, 6103 Rich Road. Visits are encouraged! Please call Bob @ 360-581-9605
